Down by the Cool of the Pool

Down by the Cool of the Pool
by Tony Mitton

A carefree frog dances by the pool and calls to his friends, “Wheeeee! Can you dance like me?”  As the other animals accept his invitation, the dancing becomes more and more jubilant with flapping, wiggling, stamping, bounding and much more.  The friends are having so much fun, even a big splash doesn’t slow them down.  I really liked how the skills of each animals were highlighted.  For example, Duck flaps instead of dancing like Frog.  The animals all dance together, but each dance their own way.  We loved imitating the animals as we sang and danced along to all the fun rhymes in this book.
